During the AFC Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, I attended the match between South Africa and Egypt. Even though Morocco was not playing, the stadium was filled with euphoric energy, largely carried by Moroccan supporters.
What fascinated me most was how football becomes a space where different cultures and religions coexist. In one of my favourite images, this contrast is especially visible: on one side, the crowd follows the match intensely; on the other, a small group turns towards Mecca in prayer — both moments happening simultaneously.
This series reflects football not only as a sport, but as a cultural and social experience, shaped by emotion, belief and collective presence.
